On September 21, 2021, Drs. John Frattarelli, Anatte Karmon, and Emily Goulet hosted a Facebook live session entitled: “PCOS: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.”

September is PCOS Awareness Month. As one of the most common ovulatory disorders, PCOS is a hormonal disorder that affects reproductive-aged women. It is one of the most common causes of infertility and it is estimated that 70-80% of women with PCOS have infertility.

During this session, Ask the Docs discussed commonly asked questions such as causes of PCOS, who can get PCOS, common symptoms, diagnosis, impact on fertility, how PCOS can be treated, long term health risks for patients with PCOS, and what can be done to lessen PCOS symptoms.
