The Fertility Institute of Hawaii performs Embryo cryopreservation or freezing in its IVF embryology laboratory in Honolulu. Embryo cryopreservation or freezing is done to preserve fertility for single females or couples in association with In Vitro Fertilization. The embryos are ‘frozen in time’ and do not age. Cryopreserved embryos give the woman the same chance of conceiving whether they are used 1 month after freezing or 10 years after freezing. As a woman ages, her fertility decreases but the reproductive competence of the frozen embryo does not. Embryo cryopreservation is a way to preserve one’s fertility.
