Mom Amanda and her husband have been together since 2012, second marriage, but no children. Both wanted to have a family later in life. Amanda was diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis, both can affect the ability to become pregnant. She started fertility treatments early in 2018 at the Fertility Institute of Hawaii, with three rounds of failed IUI treatments and one chemical pregnancy. The couple then moved onto IVF treatment. Amanda went through two rounds of IVF, the first one being cancelled due to poor response. The second VOR was a success this time and resulted in 16 eggs total, 10 viable ones, and 5 embryos that made it to day five. After a Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), one embryo did implant and continued to grow. Amanda had a fairly easy pregnancy outside of carpal tunnel syndrome. However, baby’s birth was a bit more dramatic when the placenta did not want to come out – but mommy and baby did well.
Little baby Callan Ryan was born on October 1, 2019, happy and healthy. He has huge feet and his hands are super strong.
