Ask the Docs: IVF- What Do I Need to Know Before Starting?

On May 26th, 2021, Drs. John L. Frattarelli, Anatte Karmon, and Emily Goulet hosted a Facebook Live Session entitled: “IVF- What Do I Need to Know Before Starting?”

During this session, the doctors answered questions and explained that In Vitro Fertilization is commonly referred to as IVF. IVF is the process of fertilization by manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish. When the IVF procedure is successful, the process is combined with a procedure known as embryo transfer, which is used to physically place the embryo in the uterus.

They also explained and discussed: What are the reasons for IVF, the typical length of time to complete an IVF cycle, common side effects, risks, if IVF is covered by insurance, talked about what an embryo transfer is, and also the anticipated success rate for pregnancy.
