Renato Salgado, BS, Ph.D.

Renato joined the team at The Fertility Institute of Hawaii as a senior embryologist in 2020. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Ph.D. in Cell and Tissue Biology from the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil, his home country. Renato started working as a clinical embryologist in Brazil in 2012, before moving to the USA in 2016. He then held a post-doctoral research associate position in Equine Assisted Reproduction at Texas A&M University and published various articles throughout his scientific career. In 2018, Renato resumed his activities as human clinical embryologist; he has extensive experience in micromanipulation techniques, such as ICSI, as well as embryo culture, embryo vitrification, and factors affecting embryo development and quality.
